lovelies

For the last decade or so, people have been trying to convince the video game industry of the fact that sometimes girls have money too, and occasionally they even use it on things they find interesting. And this is what they've fucking come up with? Seriously?

I honestly can't tell whether those games are for real or if they're a parody. This is what my relationship with the entertainment industry has become of late: I don't know if it's for fucking real or not. And by real I mean serious, not replacement reality.

I haven't been able to tell for years whether music videos are making statements about society through the use of parody and ridicule, or if they're actually advocating seriously fucked up world views and being unintentionally amusing.

I don't know if the shows on television are meant to show the world or current societal issues to me through a lens of irony, or whether shows really are that fucking stupid and are successful anyway.

Are these phenomena taking themselves seriously or not? Are they for real? Have I really gotten so out-dated that I can't read modern media anymore?
