The film looked good. Real good. Apart from Blackheart, who looked like he'd escaped from the set of Scary Movie. That just wasn't working.
Too bad that the characters were cardboard thin and the story a meaningless cliche-fest. Which really is a pity, because I know that Nicholas Cage is a huge geek, and I really wanted to like this movie. Despite the fact that I was always more partial for Ghost Rider vol. 2, and still hold that Dan Ketch is way cooler than Johnny Blaze (the movie essentially stamped Noble Kale on Johnny Blaze, which worked for me).
The special effects really were top notch. But jelly beans aren't characterization, they're a quirk.
