It's funny how close together the Chalcedonian Fathers brought the concepts of God and Hell.

Hell is the eternal absence of Divine Light.

The purer a soul becomes in its search for God, the more aware it will be of its imperfections and impurities. The more purified the soul, the dirtier it will feel.

But to get close to God is to realize that God is unreachable, to see the Divine Light is to see nothing. God is so bright that God is Darkness. To seek God is to despair, to reach God is to find damnation in blindness.

Reading positive statements of negative Theology always makes me a little giddy, because I find it a very romantic idea of God. The pre-Tertuallian God that still had its roots deep in the Philosophies of the Antiquity is one that I could have believed in.

God that is Apathy.
God that is Nonexistence.
God that is Darkness.
God that is the Lack Of.
God that is Nothing.

Just got new laptop working. It's running XP, and the Internet looks all weird now.
