"I have given a name to my pain, and it is Batman."

I just now realized that he's paraphrasing Nietzsche in Die fröhliche Wissenschaft.

Holy fuck, the movie came out in '89, and I'm still finding new stuff in it. And I rather don't think that it's because I'm too slow to catch them.

This is how movies ought to be made.

Gryffindors are ragingly aggressive drama queens who throw themselves off cliffs just for attention, and get away with murder because they're the golden children. Ravenclaws are passive-aggressive snarky assholes. Hufflepuffs are whiny, wishy-washy, and boring. Slytherins are untrustworthy goth-wannabe fucktards who can only whine and wheeze about how hooooorrrribly they get treated wah wah wah. Also, your ship, whatever it is, sucks and is wrong.

Have I covered all four corners of the Housewank yet, or should I go on?

Ha. Cheap validation, but that made me ridiculously happy.

I don't know what it makes me, but I want one. Hell, I want two, a Ken and Barbie.

Simon Baron-Cohen's recent book The Essential Difference: Men, Women and the Extreme Male Brain proposes that "The female brain is predominantly hard-wired for empathy. The male brain is predominantly hard-wired for understanding and building systems."
