Naama: So Emo

(no subject)

50th annual Eurovision Song Contest. I wasn't even going to watch it this year, because it's just not fun without the embarrassment of seeing your own country fail miserably for the millionth time, but company forced me to.

Some of the songs were surprisingly edgy, and maybe it's just me, but this was the first time I heard actual booing on politicized voting. The guys from Latvia were cute. Germany, France, Spain and the UK bombed horribly, which doesn't bode well for the future, seeing how they're paying for most of it. My vote went to Russia, though, for a couple of reasons.

But of course it was the eurotrash anthem that was voted winner.

Missed you, Ray.

Holy shit.

I opened the paper, and Impaled Nazarene's ban from playing in Italy took up the first two pages. I almost choked on my coffee. Sure, they've made the main-stream media before, but never has it been whining on their behalf.

Summary: Catholics r so meeeeen!!1
