Read less! More TV!

Because I can't concentrate on what I ought to be doing -

My brother came by last week, and in trying to pitch House to him, I told him that the show was like 'about this doctor-detective trying to solve these freak diseases', for lack of a better description. And what do you know, it seems like the character of House actually was modeled after Sherlock Holmes and Wilson after Watson, to 'lean over his shoulder and ask why'.

And suddenly the gargantuan amounts of subtext fall right into place.

And yeah, I do think that it's perfectly intentional on the part of the writers, and possibly the actors, whom I should thank for giving us nudge-winks to the effect of:

"This is a mistake. I don't know how to have casual conversation. You think you're talking about one thing, and either you are and it's incredibly boring, or you're not because it's subtext and you need a decoder ring."

Mostly, though, I love the show for the dialogue. It was actually reading quotes on IMDB that convinced me to download the first season.

Ps. Vitamins taste icky.
