I have to confess that while I've visited churches (even Saint Peter's, yes) and chapels all over the world, I had never seen a complete Catholic mass before. It's only under ten times that I've witnessed a Lutheran mass. That was interesting. Reminded me of the rituals of mystery cults à la the Eleusinian or Orphean mysteries, which I should think it was ultimately fashioned after.
Lovely little jabs at ecclesiastical politics, too. I was entertained. And Ratzinger still looks like Hannibal Lecter, which is why I'll be rooting for him as the next Pope.
